Mission
The Hispanic Association of Hagerstown is a non-profit organization, run entirely by non-salaried volunteers. Its mission is to provide meaningful activities for area Hispanics and further ethnic understanding in the Hagerstown community at large.
History
The Hispanic Festival of Hagerstown was a project between four great friends - Diana Reyes, Sila Alegret-Bartel, Carlos Reyes, and Tom Arroyo. The hope of the first festival started in late 2007 with the idea of having a great community event that would bring all the Hispanic people and cultures together, while being able to raise funds for a Hispanic student scholarship award to be given to a Hispanic origin student attending Hagerstown Community College. It started as a simple plan that grew into a huge success thanks to all the support and help from our community. Our dreams are that this great event will continue to grow over the years and help a lot of Hispanic students accomplish their educational dreams.
